Little has been made of our club record attendance.
It used to be a football obsession, what is your clubs record attendance?

The Boleyn being so limited in area never achieved an attendance recorded over 42,300 though often, back in the day, I had my doubts as were frequently packed 2 at a time through the north bank turnstiles on the bigger fixtures.

The Eintracht game springs to mind in particular but we will never know the truth.

But now it's unequivocal, 53,914 is the latest official record for a home fixture, almost certainly to be beaten on Sunday and again against Bournemouth......

Does it really mean much these days?

Last night the noise, at times, was unprecedented, an extra 20,000 or so voices makes a massive difference as does that roof.

Sitting back in my seat to take it all in the London Stadium, even nearly full, is a truly impressive sight. More so when its fully up and running at 60,000 and I understand, it will be 66,000 next season.

Football has changed so much since my first Hammers home game in 1974. Out of all recognition in fact, should we even bother with the old records?

Onwards and upwards, keep the momentum, keep breaking records, how far can we go?

I am most happy to read that the noise level was good, said by Bilic and on here

On a different note, the record is going to be broken again, quickly. No big issue we've already broken our attendance record.

As for the new stadium, stop whinging about the past and embrace the future. You can't change the past but you can create the future. Use your imagination and make the OS a great place for us to play.

I'll be there for the Bournemouth game, and I'll do my best. What about you cunts?

About our rivals.........

Most important wins last year........Yids home, Chelski home, Gooners away.

beating Manure last game was brilliant, but not the same as beating the Yids and Chelski.

If we played Millwall in a cup game, where would you put them in the OS? The ladies toilets would be big enough.

The white horse final was what 130,000 odd and most of them would have been west ham, surely.

Mex, the gaps at the side are big, but overall I was impressed with the view from my seat and it's a lovely stadium.

What about some more comments on the new stadium?
On my dodgy stream it looked good! But
How was the view?
Too far from the pitch or ok?
Looked like the side with the dug outs was too far from the pitch?

Course they're our rivals, and we're always up for it against them.

But how everyone seems the need to force it that we're a similar size club when we're not, I don't get that, we don't need to be.

So Spurs aren't our rivals as they have 'won more than us' yet they are Arsenal's rivals?

Anyone want to list the number of League titles , domestic cups and European trophies of the three clubs over the last 50 years?

Funny that, as their supporters trust shit themselves over the prospect of having to play outside of London for a year, while we were selling ourselves as a LONDON club at the OS.

What I mean is, if memory serves, Millwall matches involved looking at their supporters and the pitch might as well have been in another dmension. Tottenham matches were more focused on the pitch.

I'm not talking about honours, I mean they are our nearest neighbours that we play often, and apart from a few exceptions, it's usually a close match. Can always go either way. In my time, that is the match I want to win the most, closely followed by Man U.

Millwall is some

Give me a cup game against Millwall over any type of game against Spurs any day of the week.

Re: Little has been made of our club record attendance.
I just don't see it personally.

They've won more than us, reached more than major finals, normally finish above us.

But yeah out support is different class to theirs, sure that will change though with this move!

Yids fans are notorious cunts, everyone hates them.

Us they don't, with any dislike being for different reasons to the Ys.

Hopefully our new STHs at the OS keep it real and we maintain our hitherto good reputation.

Re: Little has been made of our club record attendance.
Honours-wise; yes... But they've always been a rich club that's spent a shit load of money over the decades which is why they've won a lot more.

Fan-base wise; probably not a lot in it... Apart from a small contingent of divs in our support; our fans shit all-over them lot.

BulphanIron 6:20 Sat Aug 6
Re: Little has been made of our club record attendance.
Tottenham would laugh at us thinking we rival them as a football club.

Lily Hammer 6:14 Sat Aug 6
Re: Little has been made of our club record attendance.
To be fair, there wasn't a ruck going on, so there was no need to comment on the Millwall rivalry.

There was a game of football, in which tottenham ARE our biggest rivals. Always have been, because they've been the ones we play often, whereas with millwall it's been rarely.

Millwall = fighting rival.

Tottehnam = football rival.

Plus, there was the added relevance that they wanted to knock the stadium down. I would have preferred a proper football stadium, but what's done is done, and there is a pride in saving the legacy of a great Olympics in our back yard.

Have to look at the full half of the glass.

The new breed see Spurs as our main rivals.

Not 'Wall.

That's the way it is.
